Inspiring Community-Wide Heart Health Initiatives
THE FACTS
ADVOCACY
Heart health isn’t just a topic of interest for me—it’s woven into my story. At just 41, my mother suffered a heart attack, a terrifying wake-up call that made me realize how close this disease hits home. My grandmother and both of my grandfathers also battled heart disease, each facing their own struggles—pacemakers, stents, open-heart surgery, triple bypasses, even a St. Jude Valve replacement. Their journeys and stories have shaped my own path.

Heart disease is hereditary, but it’s also preventable. I refuse to let it define my future and the future of our communities. I’ve found joy in heart-healthy living—not just as a necessity, but as a passion. From turning cardio into something fun, like hula hooping, to discovering delicious, nourishing recipes, I’ve learned that small, sustainable changes can create powerful transformations. Everyone knows someone affected by heart disease, but together, we can rewrite the story. By making heart health accessible, enjoyable, and empowering, I hope to inspire others to take charge of their own well-being—because every heartbeat matters.
